About me
Hi, I'm Ken, a wedding photographer. A specialist in wedding day photography. I make my living through living my dreams by using photos to record down other people's dreams coming through - the union of romance.
I always get this question - 'why wedding photography?'. In fact, I just got this question yesterday, from a friend in photography. And when he asked, I finally got the answer I'm searching for myself. People have different tastes when it comes to movies or books. Some like war films, action, drama, teen flicks. I like romance (yep, some of them too sappy for even my wife), horror (can't find anyone crazy as I'm in my immediate circle) and animation (more specifically, Japanese ones). So when I first started out as a hobbyist photography, I was exposed to different genres of photography. Commercial fashion photography, travel and landscapes (which I'm quite drawn to, even now), food (yes, food photography requires specialisation btw), wedding etc...

In a more distant past, when I hear or read the phrase 'wedding photography', the images of those posed photographs with beautiful backdrops displayed outside bridal studios at Tanjong Pagar would always come into my mind. But when I was gaining more exposure in photography, I began to be intrigued by the works of working photographers elsewhere who adopt a very different vision and approach to wedding photography. The faces might not always be so well lit, or the landscapes might not always be included. The couples often don't look as if they're posed. As I researched further, I discovered photojournalism. Then, I decided, unless I'm gonna make (horror) movies, I want to be like these artists - make images that evoke such strong emotions.
